Loosely based on the serial killer (so-called Vampire of Kraków) who tormented Poland in the 1960s, Koszałka’s directorial debut is more of a thriller than biopic, exploring the evil tendencies of people and how they come to be the worst versions of themselves. Filip Pławiak stars as the curious Karol who finds the serial killer and unable to tear himself away, begins to stalk him, eventually getting himself tangled in something he really shouldn’t have. The Red Spider was nominated ten times and has won four awards since its release.
Sad to inform that the Q&A with Marcin Koszałka was cancelled by Mr Koszałka himself due to unforeseen circumstances. Apologies for the inconvenience caused.
